Better Living Through Photography

There are thousands of books and millions of hours of online videos available that teach photography.
The problem is that none of those courses are designed to give you what a personal, one-on-one coaching session can give you.
I believe there is a better way. Are you ready to explore it with me?

I want to study on my own

I want to make money with my photography
When I first had the idea of turning my passion for photography into a profession that would initially afford me some extra money and eventually become my career, I was horribly naive about marketing. I had the belief that it was enough to create a blog, do some SEO (search engine optimization) and try to rake in followers on social media. As an engineer by education and a creative by vocation, I also regarded marketing as something vaguely sleazy that I was not cut out for.It took me years to realize how wrong I was and that effective marketing had to be an essential element of my strategy. Along the way, I also realized that marketing could be challenging, honest, and fun.
With this short book, I want to share with you some of the knowledge I have gained in the competitive landscape of professional photography, also known as the school of hard knocks.
I want to hear what other photographers think
My latest foray into podcasting is called Closing The_Gap.
Every Wednesday, me and my friend Fabrizia Costa will discuss topics like what it means to have talent, or a lack of it; finding and developing a personal style; daring to produce something out of the ordinary; evoking emotions and connecting to people through photographs; dealing with criticism; achieving recognition and commercial success.
I am also the co-host of The Traveling Image Makers Podcast.
Every week we interview a photographer or host a roundtable discussion on all aspects of travel photography: from planning to scouting locations, from security and the economics of traveling, to how we can travel responsibly and sustainably, with tips about the best equipment, how to interact with people and how to pack light and efficiently.
