The 7 Habits of Highly Effective PhotographersAre you struggling with your photography? Not getting the accolades and the success that you think you deserve? Then maybe this is for you.

There are many books and websites that tell you everything about how to create great images. What I think is not so easy to find is information about how to nail the shot every time, consistently and reliably. What is even more lacking is advice about getting seen and recognized that is not overly general.

I love looking at what the popular artists are doing and trying to analyze why they are successful. Over the years, I have begun to see some recurring patterns, things that effective photographers invariably do. The accent here is on effectiveness, which I define as the ability to create great work and to have it appreciated by as many people as possible.

I have created a  list, comprising the seven practices I have seen successful artists apply regularly and I wanted to share it with you. Here they are:

  1. Knowing your camera like the back of your hand
  2. Practice, practice, practice
  3. Going the extra mile
  4. Being a master of post-processing
  5. Getting inspired by your peers
  6. Sharing your knowledge and your work freely
  7. Being a marketing genius

Now, this is just a condensed list of theoretical principles that you can read, try to keep in the back of your mind and soon forget, with very few actionable items. What is needed is something more, like a detailed explanation and real world examples.

This is exactly what I will give you: a FREE series of seven weekly lessons, delivered right into your inbox, with the rationale behind each practice, some real world examples of photographers who follow it, and a set of exercises for you to do in order to become familiar with it.

We will call this The 7 Habits Photography Bootcamp and it will be available exclusively to those who sign up for it. Did I mention that this is completely FREE? And if you don’t like what you’re getting, you can unsubscribe at any time.

IMPORTANT UPDATE!

The 7 Habits Photography Bootcamp program is now closed!

After having created it, I realized it needed to be something more, so I started belaboring those concepts, comparing my notes with those of other photographers, and writing more extensively about them.

The result, which is still largely a work-in-progress, is a book I called Better Living Through Photography. While I am working at the book, I am making its drafts available for free to anyone who asks. You just have to click this link and start receiving the book’s chapters in your inbox, as soon as I release them.

Did I mention it’s all free?
